January/February 2024

Welcome to 2024!  January wrapped up wrestling and introduced basketball.  Oh, our little Knoxsky is just a ball full of energy.  He was excited to have his buddy Cole Waschsetter on his team.   There was alot of skipping and talking with Cole, but he did better then last year!  He was number 6 this year which was the same number as his big brother, Crew.  They both had a great season. January and February kept  up busy with basketball and at the end of February we all fought a horrible flu.  Everyone seemed to get it but Knox obtained 2 ear infections with it.  Bring on the warmer weather....we are ready.

November brought on the next sport for Knox.....wrestling.   This kid always shocks us.  He is such a meek and mild kid but boy, is he a good wrestler.  He had a great season with many successful practices and two wresting matches.  The first wrestling match was the GCMS Funfrawl which is really such a fun event.  It was good to be able to be back in the wrestling family and participate in the event.  The second event was Dekalb and the last scheduled match the flu took hold of us in Clinton and we had a bit of a breakdown on the mat.   He did finish 2nd in each match and I have no doubt that he will get a 1st next year.   December we prepared for the holidays.  Of course that included a visit to Santa and a xmas concert.  We also had a xmas with the Vetters and celebrated xmas day at home.  And we wrapped up the year with our yearly trip to the Ozarks.

Knox participated in soccer this September.    He is getting better but still   not his favorite sport.   He had a blast running back and forth and playing with some of his friends (Levi, etc).   September was more school, soccer and following Crew to football games which Knox is a big fan of because he has more friends there (Mason, Levi, etc) October was another month into fall and there was just basically more soccer and crew football.    This year Knox was also able to join Crew in the Wednesday evening Bible Church program which was nice for him to be able to join Crew in something.   Finally, old enough.

After the fourth of July, we had a week break and then prepared for our yearly trip to the Ozarks.    We had an awesome time this year.    The Vetters and Sydney were able to join us along with the Bruckers, Langes and hornsteins.    The kids had a blast hanging out on vacation with their friends and it was a nice change of pace for the adults.    The highlight of the trip was getting all four boys up on skies.    Hopefully a couple more years and all 5 boys can get up on skies together.    Knox hasn’t done the skies yet but he did the knee board this year and did fine so hopefully in the next couple years we can get all 5 boys up  on skies together. August brought us the beginning of school for another year.   Knox is in kindergarten this year and was super excited and about a week before classes started we got the opportunity to go to Kindergarten orientation.   It was so much fun to see Knox have the opportunity to come in an see the school and see where he would spend the next 6 ye

Happy 5 th Bday Knoxsky Bear!!!   We, of course, kicked off May with our little boys 5 th birthday.   How did you already turn 5.   He had a great day with a Bluey Cake and three little friends over to play.   Grayson, Levi, and Owen all did great and they had a great time together.   Made a complete mess but it was worth it seeing our little guys face light up as each one of them arrived to play.   Knox received a new baseball bag, new shoes, a lunch box for next year and some workbench toys and a squirt gun.   He had such a fun day. Knox has been talking about playing baseball after his birthday forever.   Finally, it’s here.   He is a cute little Thunder head team member along with his buddy Owen.    You can tell Knox has older brothers because he is really the only one that knows what’s going on.   David isn’t wild about Tball but I know Knox is going to enjoy it.   He loves being out on the field like his brothers.

March/April 2023

March was the same old stuff just trying to get through the Illinois March weather and waiting for Spring break.    This year we planned a BIG Disney trip for our spring break.    The big boys are growing up way to fast and they are starting to make their own lives with friends, sports, jobs, etc. so we figured this is the last big trip we could definitely take all our kids on.    We were lucky enough to get to bring our family and Grandpa and Grandma Vetter and Grandpa Stroh and his friend Carol.     We stayed at the DISNEY Music All Star resort which worked out perfect for us.    We all had such a great time together.    After Disney we made our way to Universal for 2 days.    Equally great as Disney.    The boys rode almost every ride and had a decently great time.    Knox was such a brave little boy.    He rode all the rides he could with his big brothers.    Some he enjoyed, others he did not.    If he didn’t like a ride, he would get off the ride and immediately say, “I hate that

November started off the cold months and Knox was finally able to have his friend Levi Jones over to play.   They did great and it was a good play date.   Now if we could just figure out the last names of Owen and Grayson at school, we could have a few more play dates. December was just as cold, with no snow, and Knox had his first Xmas Concert.   He did great.   He impressed us by getting up in front of everyone and singing and doing the actions.   FUN MEMORY:   Knox is into tell everyone in the morning, “Don’t have a good day, have a GREAT day!”   It’s super cute.
